RAF Air Cadets News

Flight Sergeant Cox, Cadet Funnell, Cadet Pearce-Roberts in rugby and Cadet Dewson in netball all performed excellently at Wing representing Beds & Cambs.

The cadets stayed overnight at RAF Brampton allowing both the rugby and netball teams to gel, work out tactics and get to know one another.

In the rugby, Beds and Cambs came joint third losing by a single try to the overall winners Herts & Bucks. Cox No 8, Funnell second row and Pearce-Roberts flanker were in the scrum who performed well and dominated in a couple of the games and the backs had who had some great breaks and running lines. Sadly no-one from 2462 Squadron was selected to represent Wing at Regional Trials although all 3 played to an ability that put them in the running and must have just missed out.

In the netball, Beds and Cambs came second losing only one match to Herts and Bucks who won all their games and only beat Beds and Cambs 9-5. Dewson was Goal Defence and played extremely well as this is not her first position at club level and was fortunate enough to be selected to Regional Trials in February.

Congratulations to Cadet Dewson to making it through to Regional Trials
